can you grow strawberries from seeds off the fruit

Q:
Can you cultivate Seascape strawberries from their seeds?
A:
It is conceivable! The berry that results will be a mix.
The seascape strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa “Seascape”) is an ever-bearing mutant strawberry. Strawberry bushes generate runners, which take root and grow into new plants. Strawberries can be propagated by sowing stems, seeds, or roots.
You can container the mother strawberry plant and wait for runners or stolons, then surround the ‘daughters’ with tiny piles of soil. This will give the Seascape a cherry flavor.
However, because this is a mix, the seeds may not develop true to the flavor or height of the Seascape. Strawberry bushes can be grown from the seeds. Wait until the strawberry becomes very soft before removing the seeds.
